Awesome Blogger Award

Wow! Thank You age45 of Magic and Beauty for this Awesome Blogger Award! (See her nomination here). It is my first time to receive this and I am truly both surprised and delighted! I will be forever grateful.

Creator:
This award was created by Miss Maggie over at Dreaming of Guatemala.

And, as lifted from her original blog about the award:

This is an award for the absolutely wonderful writers all across the blogging world. They have beautiful blogs, are kind and lovely, and always find a way to add happiness and laughter to the lives of their readers. That is what truly defines an awesome blogger.

Thank you! It is quite an honour for me to receive this nomination. So really, wow and thank you!

Question and Answer

What makes this more exciting is this part where I have to answer the questions of Magic and Beauty. All of which are enriching and soul searching for me. So, I hope you would all have a nice time reading through: (“,)

  • Do you prefer a good book or a good magazine?

Oh, I love both. Magazines do interest me especially when I only have short breaks in between motherhood duties. Browsing through the photos and the layouts of the mag give me that satisfaction within the short time given. However, when kids are already asleep, a good book gives me that vitamins for the mind and soul.

  • What would be your best song ever?

This is a tough question as I can say music is a big part of my life. And I think I have a theme song for each phase and turning point. In fact, at a recent time when I decided to help myself out of depression, I remembered I kept on singing some particular songs (thus, I started blogging them as well). So I guess they are the best songs for me:

  1. Today My Life Begins by Bruno Mars
  2. One Step at a Time by Jordin Sparks
  3. Living in the Moment by Jason Mraz
  4. Brave by Sara Bareilles
  • What is your favorite country and why?

=) Not one in particular though because I know each country have both fascinating and awful sides. I would love to know all the countries in the world and visit them someday. However, I am grateful to both the Australia – my new home country and the Philippines – my motherland. They’re both my home for all my life. Both of them gave me the opportunity to be grounded and enjoy life’s journey pretty well.

  • What is your biggest achievement you’ve ever done?

Questions like this really strikes a cord in me. For when I was younger, I would often answer like this in general – my greatest achievement was always being one of the best in school. However, failing in the licensure exam for Accountants hit me early on that developing patience and perseverance is what makes life a success. I passed the test and gained my license eventually but that isn’t my greatest achievement. Because, now that I have grown older I realised – those things don’t really matter.

Moreover, now that I am given the second chance of life, I have come to realise that there is more to awards and recognition. Being happy and leaving a legacy are two of the most challenging tasks in life for me. Thus, I would like to say that my children are my greatest achievement so far. They are both my happiness and the reason to leave a legacy that I hope to be.

  • Do you like animals? if so which one?

Yes. Koala, Kangaroo, Meercat and Panda are truly adorable. The only animal that I am dreadfully scared of – snakes.

  • Do you like travelling and where?

Oh yes! My ultimate wish is to travel the whole world. This dream started since I was 13 years of age, when I had my first international travel. My dad brought me to his work place in Shanxi, China. That opened up my mind to a whole new paradigm that the world is vast and there are lots of goodness to discover – cultures to learn, food to taste and people to meet. The environment helps shape up a person and that makes each person in the world unique.

I have been to Germany, Asia and a few more countries already but it seems still not enough. And some of those that are still in my bucket list are Switzerland, Japan, Korea, Maldives, Norway, US, UK, New Zealand, Iceland and a lot more.

  • What would be your perfect occupation?

Travel blogger, Inspirational Author and Speaker, or a Teacher.

  • Do you like to plan life in advance and what is your next life’s plan?

Yes, I used to be a control freak. I want to know where my life is heading to and I want to always look back and reflect on my past if I am on track. But the greatest learning my depression has blessed me with is – “To live my life in the moment and just be grateful for all I have now.” In its own perfect time, I would love to fulfil my desire of traveling the whole world slowly. Only this time, not alone but with my 2 daughters and husband altogether. Meantime, I love a “hygge” lifestyle focusing on simple pleasures such as comfort and cosiness in the home, and spending time with friends and family.

  • If you are given a million dollars, what is the first thing you would change in your life?

Nothing. I wouldn’t change a thing in my life, except fulfil three of my wishes: 1) Set up a Scholarship Foundation for the street and the underprivileged children in the Philippines who aren’t able to attend school because of poverty. 2) Travel the world with my family 3) Fund my business to sustain not only our family income but also the self-help initiatives of the local communities of the previous nonprofit organisation I used to work with.

  • Do you like air-plane or yacht?

I haven’t experienced yacht before. So I would love to try that. However, in travelling the world, airplane please. Road trips aren’t bad at all too. So, I don’t mind whatever means to see other places. By the way, can I insert helicopter too? It is still in my bucket list. =)

Whew! Wow! Thank You age45 for such a lovely thought provoking set of questions. I enjoyed it. And, I hope you all guys reading this blog liked it as well.
