One of the marvellous things to do when in Adelaide for a short family getaway is to visit the Beerenberg Strawberry Farm in Hahndorf.
Beerenberg Strawberry Farm
- Address: 2106 Mount Barker Rd, Hahndorf SA 5245
- Phone No. (08) 8388 7272
- Opening Hours: 9am to 5pm
In here, you can pick your own strawberries between November to April. There is an admission fee to the strawberry patches of AUD4.00 per adult but children 14 years under are free.
Plus for AUD9.50 per kilo of strawberries picked, you will not regret this tasty treat. My eldest daughter who used to not love strawberries now changed her mind after our visit here.
Within the months of May to October, the Farm is closed for strawberry picking but they have a gorgeous shop where you can buy all their products that range from jams, sauces, condiments, gravies, flavourings and other products including gift packs and ceramic wares.
You would not want to miss coming here especially if you are a foodie as their products are internationally acclaimed and found in 24 countries, on major airlines and in more than 300 hotels.
Getting Here to Beerenberg Strawberry Farm
Getting to Hahndorf from the city or the Adelaide airport is only about 34km distance or approximately 30 minutes drive using the South Eastern Freeway. There is also public transportation from Stop G2 Grenfell Street in Adelaide that goes here in Hahndorf, particularly No. 864 or No. 864F buses.
When we first visited Hahndorf several years back, we used the bus. It was very efficient and safe. Most tourists take this mode, however, one-way travel time takes about 45 minutes because of its distance. But it will be much cheaper that way than Uber or Taxi. Coming here to Beerenberg Strawberry Farm, you get off at Stop 57, Mount Barker Road and surely you are at the exact place – the farm.
As for us this time, we came here by car and our road trip to here was awesome.
