Dads are Special

Dads are most ordinary men turned by love into heroes, adventurers, story-tellers and singers of songs. Dads, therefore, are special. Also because they play a lot of roles – Friend, plAymate, Teacher, Hero, Encourager, spoRtsman.

Every first Sunday of September of the year is Father’s Day in Australia. So, yesterday, my children and I woke my husband with some surprises. My eldest daughter made some meaningful presents for him at school last week, so she handed it to him in time. Meanwhile, my youngest has asked me that we buy socks as her present for her dad. Plus, they both made their handmade cards and drawings so that made the celebration all special.

I think that was a great idea to start the day as my husband gave us a surprise during the afternoon – ice cream. That’s how happy he was I reckon. In the end, we were more than elated. Yehey! Now you know why we love Father’s Day.

Kidding aside, we do love Father’s Day as we get to express to my dear husband how thankful and lucky we are having him. He is a very hardworking man who always sets us ahead of all his priorities. We are grateful how protective he is of us that he wants us safe all the time as well as happy. He loves to make jokes and pranks. Our home then is always filled with laughter because of him.

Indeed, happiness comes from small things.

Sometimes the smallest things take up the most room in your heart. – Winnie the Pooh

Thus, I will remain grateful always for the small things, big things and everything in between. =)

In fact, I am thankful for a lot of things: I am grateful for the Father’s Day celebration we had yesterday. Second, because it is already Spring in Australia. Third, Thank You blogging friends for all your prayers as my sister finally got out of the hospital. She still has a tumour in the pancreas but we are thankful that the result of the exam reveals that it is not cancerous. The doctor is advising her to recover through proper nutrition, pain reliever and maybe an operation in time when her body responds well after recovery. Lastly, I am excited and thankful to finally meet my Dad soon here in Australia when he flies in over tomorrow. Will definitely update you all soon about this.

Thank you for reading! I wish you all great days and week ahead.
