Knowledge is only potential power until it comes into the hands of someone who knows how to get himself to take effective action. In fact, the literal definition of the word “power” is “the ability to act.” – Anthony Robbins, UNLIMITED POWER: The New Science of Personal Achievement
In my previous post – How To Be A Winner in Life in 7 Simple Steps, I shared with you the reasons why people don’t get what they want. We have learned that the only thing that differentiates the successful and the unsuccessful is the ability to take action. Even Steve Jobs, Apple company’s founder, said in agreement –
I am convinced that about half of what separates successful entrepreneurs from the non-successful ones is pure perseverance. – Steve Jobs
We might say that most people in their adult life should have have known already what they want. The problem is – people lose track. And the top three causes for this are:
- Lack of Clarity.
- Lack of Desire.
- Lack of Action.
Each of us can hold a myriad excuse why we are not where we want to be. But only a few keep a list of reasons why going after their dreams is the only way to go.
“If you truly want to change your life, you must first be willing to change your mind.”
It all begins and ends in the mind. A person’s mind is so powerful, it can invent, create, experience, and destroy things with thoughts alone. Indeed, your mind is a powerful tool. Fill it with positive thoughts and your life will flourish.
However, Faith without Action is dead! (James 2:17)
Vision without action is merely a dream. Action without vision is simply drifting through time. Vision with action can change the world.
Don’t wait until you’re ready to take action. Take action to be ready. And the time to take action should always be now.
You don’t have to see the whole staircase. Just take the first step! – Martin Luther King, Jr.
If taking the first step seem vague for you. Start with a plan!
Give answers to your longing. What is it that you want? What activates your imagination? Be clear on what you really want. Start with the 12 months time frame. What do you want to accomplish in a year if it will be your last year?
With the new year upcoming, and if you could design a perfect life, how does it look like?
Keep this desire in your heart and do something each day to achieve what you want.
